The rain reminded us of the need to apply waterproofing to the CMU - all concrete, CMU included, is pourous! Temporarily, a stip of peel and stick is applied on top.
Here's that tricky detail from the last page cleaned up a little.
More of the same looking down the 'hall' on the south side of the kitchen.
Wow! Haven't seen the floors in a while - the texture of the ground concrete looks great with the crip wood base and reveal. As I look back on the work, the window and door frames should probably be white. The brown is too much.
Great views from the kitchen!
The contractor is doing a great job with the door frames - once it is finished, all the joints will disappear.
Yay! Stucco done, scaffolding down. Looks awfully clean! Now to the landscape!
Ouch! This one had to be redone ... the sub figured black was in.
A close up of the study's deck as it meets the CMU wall.
Another tricky detail at the living room windows and the 'rusticated' base wall.
Minimal guardrail between the dinning and living rooms.
Deep in the cabana - the concrete was worked to expose it's aggregate; another texture for the space.
Blue bird day up on the hill. Love the textures and tones of the different materials.
Here's a closer view of the 'back side' of the entry space ... lots of glass!
Bit of work still to do at the west edge of the yard - great view even when it's reflected in the glass.
Caulk to the rescue at the living room door.
A good view of the study as the ground is prepared for the cabana underneath.
Floor to ceiling windows!
The front elevation has been liberated!
